Zea/Corvus/Homo 1

Holes in the Wall Collective held a residency program which led to a group show, showcasing emergent outdoor installations on a retired corn field in New Jerusalem, PA. Artists lived and worked on the land for one week, reflecting on the theme of Corn. Zea/Corvus/Homo 1 explores the effects of the human-made monocrop cultivation process.

The sample locations mirrored the 7 stars in the Pleiades or Seven Sisters constellation. This constellation was used by early farming communities, as an indicator for planting and harvesting corn.
